The location was excellent. Easy access to the castle and to the train station to Belfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We loved the character and history of the inn and enjoyed eating in the pub.
Parking was not the most convenient. You can park, however, at the castle parking lot which is a couple blocks away without paying or worrying about time constraints.
The hotel is a good place to stay the rooms are comfortable & the food is good, however what makes the place is that the staff are very friendly & helpfull & do everything possible to make your stay pleasant.
We were made very welcome by all the staff in this historical hotel which has had a varied history due to its age and the character of the building made for an interesting stay.
Hotel was pleasent and the staff very good
clean, friendly staff, good breakfast, and especially the night porter who serves you alchohol beveridges at 2am.
not much really but just the bathroom was a bit tired and in need of a wee makeover. and my friends bath was about 4feet high making it a bit awkward to get in and out of.
helpful friendly staff giving us information as soon as we arrived excellent porridge in the morning ideal easy to find location and loved the age and history of the building
Very basic accomodation and bar lacked atmosphere. Were offered a very unacceptable room at first which was not clean and then given a better room after complaining. Very impersonal and certainly would not recommend.
Very comfortable eating room with coal fire and other heating. Exceptionally friendly staff who provided fast service. Good quality food, no frills just simple choices & good portions. There is a chef who makes excellent scones and deserts. Liked the atmosphere and the fact your dog is welcome too. This at an extra charge which is fair enough. Dog allowed on guest room & not in bar or eating area. Bedroom double glazed. Excellent beds & extra pillows & all usual extras, Clean & quiet.
Outer appearance needs a good spruce up. Peeling paint etc. Mentioned this to Reeption who explained will be done up when road works are complete. Internal decoration nice. The Ensuite clean but dated. Could be improved with some imagination. No armchair in room.
Excellent breakfast. Comfortable, but not luxury room.
Bathroom was a bit of a squeeze to enter and leave. Heating did not remain on throughout the day - the weather was particularly cold some days. BREAKFAST, for holiday makers, should continue beyond 9.00; we would probably not have booked had we known this beforehand. Our room, most definately needed double-glazed windows. It would have prevented the windows being continually misted up and reduced the noise; roadworks, refuse collection, road sweepers and delivery vehicles made are rather cacophany of noise every morning.
The staff were very helpful and polite and the location is excellent..
There was no hot water both in the evening and the morning. We rang reception about it in the evening and was told to wait 20 minutes after waiting for 40 minutes the water was still cold.
Friendly helpful staff, very good breakfast.
A little tired in places but clean and presentable.
It was a bad experience. Customers in bar area hostile
Very comfortable and the staff were very helpfull. Excellent value for money
Historic building with character, very friendly staff, food excellent.
Family Run, Very friendly & helpful staff.
Lack of off road parking
